This month, I’m participating in the Blog for Food campaign supporting the Oregon Food Bank, a network of 915 hunger-relief agencies throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. According to a recent report, the need for emergency food is skyrocketing in this volatile economy. With requests at record levels, and donations well below previous years, local food bank organizations, both here in Oregon and across the country, are in need of your assistance.
“Layoffs, foreclosures and other economic disruptions are taking a terrible toll on our neighbors,” commented Rachel Bristol, executive director and CEO of Oregon Food Bank.
Throughout the month of February, I’ll be displaying the Blog for Food logo within my posts. By clicking on the logo, you’ll be transported (magically, of course!) to the Oregon Food Bank page where you can donate to the cause. Be sure to note the “Blog for Food” drive on your donations.
Help build your community by helping your neighbors during their time of need!
