Bravo’s ‘Top Chef Masters’ and If The Food Network Was Real Life…

 

Juliette over at Super Chef notes that tomorrow night is the start of the new Top Chef series, Top Chef  Masters. Instead of your average kitchen Joe, Bravo’s Top Chef series has wrangled a number of well-known, accomplished chefs to battle Top Chef-style – with the winner awarded $100,000 to donate to their chosen charity!

I’m really looking forward to seeing a few of my favorite chefs – Rick Moonen, Wylie Dufresne, Rick Bayless – in a timed competition. Let’s see if the big guys can really step up to the plate! Bravo even has a great photo gallery where you can ‘Meet the Top Chef Masters’. Tune in tonight!

In case you aren’t a regular reader yet, head on over to Accidental Hedonist, where Kate just posted a great article on what life would really be like if it were more like the Food Network. A few of my favorites include:

  • Cooking would never be interrupted by a phone call, a knock on the door, or a screaming child.
  • Every kitchen would have equipment for even the most obscure of cooking techniques.
  • All meals could be made between 30 to 60 minutes.

In my Food Network life, there would also be a commercial dishwasher in my residential kitchen, where I could get my dishes clean in five minutes or less, rather than tirelessly loading and unloading for an hour! Oy!
