Lower Gas = Lower Food Pricing? And – Restaurant Critic Gets Roughed Up!

  • MSNBC.com has a great report about companies that increase food prices just as gas prices increase. But what happens when gas prices start to decline? Do food prices decline as well? Not so much. Analysts are referring to it as “sticky prices”. Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Kellogg, Tyson – some of your favorite food companies may be to blame.
  • Ouch! Random violence against a food critic?! Steve Barnes, a food critic for Albany’s Times Union, was more than roughed up outside a local restaurant recently in a seemingly senseless assault. Sometimes restaurant reporting is just an ugly job. Heal well, Steve!
