Part of the fun each year on Daily Blender is the chance to check out new food and wine happenings around the country. Here in 2011, in addition to my yearly musts, like Aspen and New York, I’ll be venturing to a few events I have yet to visit, starting with next week’s Beaver Creek Master Chef Classic.
On a press trip to Vail last year, I had a chance to spend a few days covering the Beaver Creek Wine & Spirits Festival, featuring a handful of great chefs, bartenders, and wine educators from the area. Next week, I’m headed back to Vail – and more specifically, Beaver Creek – to make the rounds at the Beaver Creek Master Chef Classic, where favorite chefs like John Besh, Stephanie Izard, Marco Canora, Joey Campanaro, along with fantastic wine and spirits consultant Steve Olson, will be in attendance. Presented by Bon Appetit Magazine, events like a Master Chef Dinner with New Orleans chef John Besh, a wintery snowshoe excursion and luncheon with chef Stephanie Izard, and a pastry workshop with François Payard will happen January 27th-29th, with the weekend closing out with a Grand Tasting at the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch.
Throughout the weekend, I’ll be busy tweeting my notes and pictures from the event, with full coverage following my return right here on Daily Blender.
For more information, or to finagle yourself a few tickets before they’re all sold out, check out the Master Chef Classic website.
