The Side Dish: A Bit o’ Summer Staycation

Call it a staycation, call it a vacation. Call it what you will, I’m taking it. We’ve reached the summer months and I’m taking a bit of time to focus on relaxation, family, and future, nearly a country-wide theme with the upcoming Fourth of July.

But be not worried! Good things, they are a-happenin’. When I’m back at the Daily Blender helm July 11th, I’ll have a great bio on chef Eric Faivre of Maui’s Grand Wailea, as well as a look at the island’s Evonuk Farms with Wailea’s chef Isaac Bancaco of Humuhumunukunukuapua’a. At the end of July, we’ll have photos and notes from 2011’s Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans, featuring some of the country’s best bartenders.

In the meantime, take a look at the Kapalua Wine & Food Festival coverage from this month, in case you missed it. If you’re flying Delta Airlines in July, be sure to pick up a copy of the beautiful Delta Sky magazine to read my article on Bobby Flay’s favorite American restaurants. There’s also a bit more coming down the pipeline, but we’ll discuss that later…

I think it’s time for sun.
