Share Our Strength’s Taste of The Nation 2010 Comes To Portland

I absolutely love supporting food and wine non-profit organizations here on Daily Blender. With Zen Kitchen, my former catering business, we often donated food stuffs to local auctions and non-profit events in support of community building organizations around the city. As part of the culinary industry, I fully believe we have the capability to combat and conquer the hunger battle within our nation. (Check out my post on ways you can help with hunger issues in your community.)

Share Our Strength is one of my favorite national food non-profits, with fantastic events like the Great American Bake Sale and A Tasteful Pursuit helping to accumulate support and funds for hunger programs around the country. Next Monday, the delicious Taste of the Nation arrives in Portland, showcasing some of Stumptown’s best restaurants, wineries, and breweries while benefiting the Oregon Food Bank, the Klamath-Lake Counties Food Bank, the St. Vincent De Paul Food Recovery Program, and the Oregon Hunger Relief Task Force.

Hosted at the Luxe Autohaus, this year’s event touts fifty restaurants, twenty-five wineries, and five breweries, including:

  • Andina
  • Beaker & Flask
  • Beast
  • Bluehour
  • Clarklewis
  • Laurelhurst Market
  • Nuestra Cocina
  • Saint Cupcake
  • Vindalho
  • Cooper Mountain Vineyard
  • Willamette Valley Vineyard
  • Full Sail Brewing Co.
  • Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.

For more information on Taste of the Nation around the country, check out the website here. In the Portland area? Head over to the Portland Taste of the Nation page to get your tickets to Monday’s great event!
