Between Ian Karmel and Ron Funches appearing on WTF with Marc Maron’s podcast, and Shane Torres’ Farewell Show before he heads off to NY last week, October has been a pretty epic month for Portland comedy. And while who’s leaving (and already left) is plenty news-worthy, what’s equally exciting is the arrival of some particularly bad-ass comics this weekend for the All Jane No Dick festival.
While some haters are less than excited about the prospect of a festival that only showcases female talent, the rest of us have plenty to be thankful for. There will be some stand-outs from Bridgetown Comedy Festival like the animated and unpredictable Kyle Mizono, satire-infused sets from NY Times-acclaimed Kate Berlant. Don’t miss local favorites like Bri Pruett (read my interview with her here) Kristine Levine, and Amy Miller. And, not to mention some particularly big names like Beth Stelling (Conan) , Phoebe Robinson (Broad City), and Sara Schaefer (MTV’s Nikki & Sara Live, Inside Amy Schumer), and many others.
You can access the entire schedule of events here, which includes the show line-up as well as classes like Writing Comedy for TV and Stand-up with Bri Pruett.
