Michelin stars were dispersed this week in NYC and while a few new names were able to net one or two, some old names returned to the black hole.
Sushi temple Masa garnered another star, giving it three and the highest designation of stars allowed, joining the statures of Per Se, Les Bernardin and Jean Georges as the only New York City restaurants to possess such an honor.
New to the two-star list are Adour Alain Ducasse, Gilt and Momofuku Ko, which join Daniel, Del Posto, Gordon Ramsay at the London and Picholine, all who retained their status from last year.
Seven new restaurants were given their first single-star, including Alto, Allen and Delancey and Fiamma, rounding out New York’s single-star restaurants at 31.
In possession of a single-star last year, A Voce, Cafe Gray, Country, and Mario Batali’s Babbo, each fell from this year’s list.
