In a formal press release today, it was announced that:
“After a decade long relationship, Tao Executive Chef Sam Hazen and the Broadway Restaurant Group have parted ways…”
It was also revealed that Hazen would be returning full attention to his already existing consulting business.
Hazen catapulted both Tao Restaurants – Las Vegas and New York – into the national limelight. The Pan-Asian inspired establishment achieved national ranking as one of the top grossing venues during his tenure. Tao Las Vegas was reported to have had $66 million dollars in gross sales at the close of 2007, this figure sourced by Restaurants and Institutions magazine.
Ralph Scamardella, the previous executive chef of Tao New York, will return to fill the vacated position.
